Boarders Against Breast Cancer

Boarders Againgst Breast Cancer 2010 – The idea was born in 2009 for Boardsports Against Breast Cancer as a way to engage a community and work together to end breast cancer.  From conception of the project to the event date, BABC has been a primary focus of mine as a way to engage young adults in philanthropy.  As the first event I was ever involved with a lot of lessons were learned and a lot of great successes were celebrated.  With 120 attendees and $4,000 raised for the cause thanks to over thirty industry sponsors, Boarders Against Breast Cancer became an annual event to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Boarders Against Breast Cancer 2011 – Planning started in May of 2010 for our March 2011 event.  I led a team of 20 volunteers and managed creative projects like our awareness and action sport photography exhibit, awareness video, branding and graphic design, as well as the creation and organization of our social media; marketing and sponsorship  became my primary role.  Through focused and careful planning, we achieved 100% growth in attendance and donation between 2010 and 2011.
